BJJ

Brazilian Jiujitsu

Brazilian Jiujitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that mainly revolves around ground combat. BJJ is a purely grappling-based martial art. This means, that we do not train punching or kicking but instead purely focus on how to control and subdue the opponent through a combination of grips, throws, holds and clamps. The goal of the sport is to get your opponent to the ground, apply various holds to control them and then apply a combination of locks and clamps to force a submission.

Time and Place

Currently, we have one official time slot for BJJ, exclusively for club members (the thursday evening). However, we are actively working on securing more time slots for BJJ. In the meantime, our members and coaches regularly book the dojo to train together, often at the following times:

  • Tuesday, 08:00 – 09:00
  • Wednesday, 09:00 – 10:30
  • Saturday, 11:30 – 13:00

All trainings are conventionally given at EOS – Z01.510

Trainer

The classes are taught by our BJJ trainer Jan Schering, a black belt in BJJ. The classes are suited for all levels and offer a mix of learning new techniques and applying them through sparring.
