Emma Sonnemans

Hi, my name is Emma Sonnemans. Since childhood, I have been involved with budo. I originally started with judo and later switched to jiu-jitsu.

During my student days in Nijmegen, I really enjoyed training at a predecessor of NSVV Radbudo (NSJV Zanshin). It was so much fun that I stuck around and now teach training myself!

I like jiu-jitsu because it is so versatile. We train all kinds of combat situations and techniques, both standing and on the ground. This teaches you to defend yourself in all kinds of situations. There are techniques to be found for everyone that work well.

Besides jiu-jitsu, I do two other Japanese martial arts: Kobudo and Katori Shinto Ryu. I also teach those two martial arts, not at the RSC but at Migaku.

I think it is important that everyone feels welcome during my class and that everyone can train pleasantly together!
